...when you see the price.  It's worth it.

It's a limited edition of By Hook or by Crook and 28 More of the Best Crime + Mystery Stories of the Year, (ed. Ed Gorman and Martin Greenberg).  Limited because it has signatures from ALL the authors, including Dennis Lehane, Laura Lippman, Mary Higgins Clark, Marcia Muller, and SJ Rozan. 

All the authors, including me:  "Femme Sole" is part of this collection (also signed!).  I couldn't be more pleased!

I've finished the editing projects, I'm nearly done packing, and in a few short hours, I will be getting the ritual manicure that signals the end of packing and the beginning of travel (hey, it's also a reward for finishing packing at a reasonable hour!).  Hey, ho, off to San Francisco we go!

I'll be on two panels.  On Saturday, at 4:30, I'll be moderating BEYOND VENGEANCE:  The importance of motivation, featuring William Dietrich, Jack Fredrickson, D.P. Lyle, Tim Maleeny (Room: Bayview A). 

On Sunday, at 8:30, I'll be discussing A WRONGFUL DEATH:  What drives your character along with Rachel Brady(M), Alafair Burke, Meredith Cole, Sheila Connolly (Room: Seacliff B).   Yes, it's EARLY, but you want to go to the Anthony Brunch anyway, right?  And there'll be prizes, I'm told...tempt, tempt...

Fingers crossed:  "Femme Sole" is nominated for both a Macavity and an Anthony!  For just a short time, you can read it here (scroll down, it's in red). 

I know it's going to be a mad event:  early reports of hilarity are in-coming at this time.  Say hi if you see me!

Richard Godwin has a blog called "Chin Wag at the Slaughterhouse" at his new website.  If the coolness of the name wasn't enough, his questions elicit responses from writers that make me want to hit the keyboard--and that's good stuff.  His interviewees mostly write dark, edgy stuff, noir and horror, and they will get you thinking.  He interviewed me and it's up now.
