Full-moon fever

Although I wasn’t able to attend The New England Crime Bake this year (I had a wonderful family wedding to attend), Toni Kelner and I organized a party to celebrate Wolfsbane and Mistletoe.  Alan Gordon, a fellow contributor, was also there, to sign books and join in the fun.  A few photos:

Crime Baker Gin Mackey was one of the winners of a copy of WaM, signed by several of the contributors.

The prizes are safely out of reach.  Alan Gordon, on the right.

Mob scene!  We had a great turnout and loads of fun.  Thanks to Toni for having such an inspired notion!

Email's back up!

I'm now back in the world of the electronically-connected. Thanks for your patience.

Technical difficulties

I’m having issues with my email right now, and there’s not a lot I can do about it until the hosting service sorts itself out.

Thanks for your patience!

Finally, B'con photos!

I am dreadfully tardy with these, but I plead exhaustion, the post-Bouchercon ague, and then vacation.  I did mention some thoughts about the Baltimore B’con at the Femmes Fatales, but I wanted to share some photos here.

There was a panel with some of the contributors to Wolfsbane and Mistletoe; below (r-l), you can see Kat Richardson, me, Donna Andrews, Charlaine Harris, and Alan GordonBcon2008 012

I love this picture of Dan Hale and Maria Lima.

In all the excitement of participating in the democratic process...

...I got ahead of myself yesterday. Elaine Viets' post is up on the Femmes Fatales blog today. And she's on Jungle Red as well. Enjoy!

After you vote...

Later today, you should check out the post on the Femmes Fatales blog from friend and fellow Femme  Elaine Viets.  She has a new Josie Marcus “mystery shopper” book—Murder With All The Trimmings—out today and you should check that out today, too!

But only after you VOTE.  I’m serious—I’ll find out, and you don’t want that.  Consider a trip to the bookstore your reward for having done your civic duty.

I went first thing this morning, and there was a long line outside the polling place at 6:50am.  It was even longer by the time I left.  But after the doors opened, everyone played nicely, and the line flew along, lickety-split.  Let’s hope it’s the same all over the country.

Halloween treats

Halloween chocs 002Is this not the coolest thing ever?  Yes, it is a coffin-shaped box, and the ribbon says “Chocolates to die for.”  The little white ones are ghosts (instead of their trademark mice), and there are crescent moons as well.  The chocolates are from one my favorite chocolate makers, and were a surprise from my favorite trick-or-treater, Mr. G.  Halloween chocs 005

And, yes, I know I STILL owe blogs from B’con and my vacation, and I’m working on it.  Soon, I promise.
